Parallels has acquired 2X Software with the intention of improving virtual desktop solutions in the enterprise.
Announced on Wednesday, the virtual desktop provider said there are 'huge synergies' between Parallels and 2X Software solutions, and merging the two firms will improve cross-platform solution development.
Financial details were not disclosed.
2X Software is the developer of the 2X Remote Application Server (2X RAS), a platform-independent virtual desktop which includes application support and delivery, as well as a Windows client usable on today's modern operating systems. In addition, 2X Software runs a stand-alone solution called 2X Mobile Device Management (MDM) which enables customers to monitor and manage corporate and employee mobile device from one dashboard.
In comparison, Parallels is a popular developer of desktop and server virtualization software, including the virtualization of Windows Desktops for Mac users, for both personal use and in the corporate realm. The company also offers hosting and cloud solutions, Parallels Access -- remote access software from mobile devices to PCs -- and Parallels Mac Management for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), a plugin for businesses which manages Mac computers via existing infrastructure, business skills, processes and systems.

I use this program on my mac for our emr, I have no choice but to use this please please please coe out with a new update. This is so slow its killing me.
Great RDP app
I started out using other apps but ended up using this because of how the hotkeys are native Mac hotkeys vs having to switch between PC and Mac, or having some third party software for hotkey configuration. This version is pretty stable and you can connect to mutiple RDPs..

Latest update crashes every single time
This worked fine on my mac up until this latest update on June 17. Now it not only can't be opened, it can't be deleted and reinstalled. This is a vital part of our online business. If you have another choice for remote connections use it because this program is junk.
